Kirsty Azzopardi
Iggradwat b’B.A. bl-Unuri fil-Malti fl-2019 u temmet l-M.A. fil-Lingwistika fl-2022. S’issa r-riċerka akkademika tagħha kienet dejjem marbuta mal-katina verbali fil-Malti. Bħalissa qed tagħmel id-Dottorat mad-Dipartiment tal-Malti fi ħdan l-Università ta’ Malta u qed taħdem fuq l-istruttura tal-argumenti, b’mod partikolari fil-każ tal-verbi ta’ moviment fil-Malti. Tinteressaha wkoll il-varjazzjoni djalettali fil-lingwi u ilha numru ta’ snin taħdem fuq proġett ta’ riċerka li jistħarreġ il-varjazzjoni morfosintattika fid-djaletti tal-Malti. Hija ppreżentat xogħolha kemm f’konferenzi lokali kif ukoll quddiem udjenzi internazzjonali. Apparti r-riċerka lingwistika, hija involuta fit-tagħlim tal-Malti Mediku u għal xi żmien kienet tgħallem il-Malti fil-Junior College. Hija wkoll membru fil-bord tad-Deċiżjonijiet 3 li qed jaħdem fuq il-klassifikazzjoni tal-varjanti fonetiċi-ortografiċi fil-Malti.
Kirsty Azzopardi graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in Maltese in 2019 and finished her M.A. in Linguistics in 2022. Her research has mainly focused on the verb chain in Maltese. She is currently reading for a Ph.D. with the Department of Maltese at the University of Malta on the argument structure of motion verbs in Maltese. She is also interested in dialectal variation and has been working on a research project concerning morphosyntactic variation in the dialects of Maltese. She has presented her research at both local and international conferences. Apart from linguistic research, she teaches Medical Maltese and has lectured Maltese at the Junior College. She is also a member of the board working on classifying phonetic-orthographic variants in Maltese, leading to the publication of Deċiżjonijiet 3.
