Nawguraw lill-Prof. Adrian Grima, il-kap il-ġdid tad-Dipartiment tal-Malti fil-Fakultà tal-Arti.
Il-Prof. Grima jgħallem il-letteratura Maltija u r-rappreżentazzjoni letterarja tal-Mediterran fl-Università ta’ Malta u kors introduttiv dwar il-lingwa u l-letteratura Maltija fl-Inalco, Pariġi. Huwa l-koordinatur tal-proġett tat-Tradizzjoni Orali. Ħa sehem f’konferenzi akkademiċi u festivals tal-letteratura f’diversi pajjiżi. Kiteb għadd ta’ kotba u artikli speċjalizzati bil-Malti, l-Ingliż u t-Taljan dwar il-letteratura u l-kultura li xxandru f’Malta u barra. F’dawn l-aħħar snin ħadem ukoll fuq il-vuċi tan-narratur fix-xogħol tar-rumanzier Realista Ġużè Bonnici u fuq ir-rumanzi u l-ħajja tal-ewwel kittieba ta’ rumanzi bil-Malti Concetta Brincat.
Nirringrazzjaw mill-qalb lil Dr Michael Spagnol għall-erba’ snin ta’ ħidma fejjieda li wettaq fid-Dipartiment b’risq l-istudenti, ir-riċerka akkademika, u t-tħaddim tal-Malti f’oqsma speċjalizzati. Nawgurawlu għall-proġetti ta’ riċerka tiegħu fi ħdan id-Dipartiment u lil hinn.

New Head of Department
We would like to congratulate Prof. Adrian Grima, the new Head of Department of Maltese within the Faculty of Arts.
Prof. Grima teaches Maltese literature and literary representations of the Mediterranean at the University of Malta and an introductory course on Maltese language and literature at Inalco in Paris. He coordinates the Oral Traditions project. He has published academic works in Maltese, English and Italian, and read papers at conferences around the world. Recently he has also worked on the complex role of the narrator in the work of interwar Realist novelist Ġużè Bonnici and has done research on the first female Maltese novelist, Concetta Brincat (1870-1940), and her two novels.
Heartfelt thanks to Dr Michael Spagnol for his relentless work during the last four years in the Department. His work has benefitted the students, academic research, and Maltese in specialised areas. We wish him the best of luck for his research projects within the Department of Maltese and beyond.
